2026 Red & Black List! Recommended Korean dermatology treatments: Which ones are a must-do? Which ones are scams? An annual review of treatments suitable for Taiwanese skin types.

In 2026, I visited a total of 12 dermatology clinics in Seoul, Busan, and Jeju Island and underwent over 20 different treatments. Today, I’ve compiled all my findings into a “red and black list” – specifically tailored to the skin type of people from Taiwan (oily skin, enlarged pores, prone to spots). You’ll easily understand which treatments are essential and which ones to avoid 🔥

Red and Black List of Korean Dermatology Treatments

🏆 2026 Red List: 6 Essential Treatments for People from Taiwan

1️⃣ Hyaluronic Acid Injection (Rejuran HB / Juvelook)

Recommendation Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Due to the humid and hot climate in Taiwan, people often have oily skin on the surface but dry skin underneath. Hyaluronic acid injection is an excellent starting point for improving skin health. In Korea, these treatments are 30%–50% cheaper than in Taiwan, and the formulas are updated more frequently. The Rejuran HB treatment I had at Barog left my skin super hydrated just three days after the procedure; I didn’t even need to retouch my makeup.

  • Average Price: KRW 198,000–298,000 (NTD 5,346–8,046)
  • Suitable For
  • Recommended Clinics: Barog, Theia, AMRED

2️⃣ Picosecond Laser (Pico Plus / Discovery Pico)

Recommendation Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

For those with spots and enlarged pores, picosecond laser is the best choice. Korean clinics use the latest models of picosecond lasers, which deliver more precise energy and faster results. After the full-face treatment at The Heal, my spots faded by 70%; my friends thought I had changed my foundation!

  • Average Price: KRW 158,000–220,000 (NTD 4,266–5,940)
  • Suitable For Spots, acne scars, enlarged pores
  • Recommended Clinics: The Heal, Nohd, Brandnew

3️⃣ HIFU (Doublo Gold)

Recommendation Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Compared to ultrasound treatments, HIFU causes much less pain and still delivers excellent results. It’s especially suitable for those who are sensitive to pain. Director Min at AMRED is highly skilled; the energy distribution is precise, and the jawline appears significantly tighter after the treatment.

  • Average Price: KRW 398,000–550,000 (NTD 10,746–14,850)
  • Suitable For: Loose jawline, early signs of wrinkles around the mouth
  • Recommended Clinics: AMRED, Theia, Barog

4️⃣ Titanium Thread Lift (Inmode Forma/Titan)

Recommendation Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

One of the hottest anti-aging treatments in 2026. It causes minimal pain and shows quick results, making it ideal for those who are afraid of needles or surgeries. The face may feel slightly warm after the treatment, and the effects are most noticeable after a week.

  • Average Price: KRW 280,000–380,000 (NTD 7,560–10,260)
  • Suitable For: Mild skin sagging, those looking to maintain youthful skin

5️⃣ Gold Micro-Needling (Sylfirm X / Dual-Wave)

Recommendation Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

An excellent solution for enlarged pores and acne scars. The dual-wave gold micro-needling is much more effective than traditional microneedling. The recovery period is about 3–5 days, but the results are well worth waiting for.

  • Average Price: KRW 220,000–320,000 (NTD 5,940–8,640)
  • Suitable For: Acne scars, enlarged pores, rough skin

6️⃣ PDRN Regenerative Injection

Recommendation Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

A new favorite in 2026 – it offers more advanced skin regeneration than hyaluronic acid injections. After the treatment, the skin feels “brightened from within,” especially suitable for those who stay up late or have dull skin.

  • Average Price: KRW 180,000–280,000 (NTD 4,860–7,560)
  • Suitable For: Dull skin, early signs of aging, tired skin

⛔ 2026 Black List: Treatments to Avoid

❌ Low-Price “10-Treatment Packs”

Many clinics in tourist areas offer 10-treatment packs at seemingly attractive prices. The problem is: when will you come to Korea again? Most people only use 2–3 treatments before the pack expires, meaning they end up spending more money.

❌ Unknown Brands of “Discount Botox”

Some clinics use unknown brands of Botox at extremely low prices, but the quality and safety of these products cannot be guaranteed. It’s recommended to use only Meditoxin (a Korean-made brand) or Botox (produced by Allergan), as these are globally recognized.

❌ Trying Too Many Treatments at Once

Some agencies promote “5-treatment packages in one day,” but the skin needs time to recover. Trying too many treatments in one session can actually reduce their effectiveness. It’s recommended to limit yourself to no more than 2 treatments per day, with at least 3 days in between.
