Large pores have truly been one of the biggest problems I’ve faced since high school. No matter how expensive the astringents I used were or how often I applied face masks, those annoying pimple marks always remained. During the summer, when my skin produced more oil, the pores in my T-zone were so large that you could actually count them with the naked eye—sounds exaggerated? Not at all.
I had laser treatments for enlarged pores several times in Taipei. The results were noticeable for the first three days after each session, but after a week, everything would go back to normal. That is until I went to South Korea for an exchange semester, where a local student recommended Reyou Dermatology, saying their pore-reducing treatment was different from anything else. Thinking “it can’t hurt to try,” I gave it a shot—and this time, it really worked differently.

🔬 Just how serious are my pore problems?
📊 The results of my skin test at Reyou
The test report I received at Reyou Dermatology gave me a completely new understanding of my pore issues:
| Test items | My results | Normal range | Severity level |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pore density in the T-zone | 28 per square centimeter | <15 per square centimeter | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Severe |
| Average pore diameter | 0.18 mm | <0.08 mm | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very severe |
| Sebum production | High | Normal | ⭐⭐⭐ Medium |
| Types of pores | Oily + aging combination | – | Relatively difficult to treat |
When Director Reyou read the report, her first comment was: “Your pores are not only clogged with oil, but also some of them are aging pores caused by collagen loss. So just controlling the oil is not enough; you must also stimulate collagen regeneration at the same time.”
That’s why all the treatments I had done before, which only targeted the surface oiliness, only lasted for a few days—because I overlooked the underlying cause of aging.
💆 Reyou’s pore tightening treatment plan
🎯 Step-by-step treatment program
The plan designed for me by Director Reyou consists of three stages:
📍 Phase 1: Deep Cleansing + Oil Control (Week 1)
- Oxygen bubble deep cleansing (removes excess oil and dead skin cells clogging pores)
- Professional microneedling (not the type you do at home)
- Application of retinol/salicylic acid products (regulates sebum production)
📍 Phase 2: Stimulating Regeneration (Weeks 2–3)
- Gold microneedling radiofrequency → stimulates collagen production to tighten pores
- PDRN injections → improves skin quality from within
📍 Phase 3: Maintenance and Stabilization (Starting from Week 4)
- Monthly picosecond laser treatments (to prevent recurrence)
- At-home skincare guidance (the director personally recommends suitable product lines)
💰 Program Costs
| Phase | Item | Korean Won | Approximately New Taiwan Dollars |
|---|---|---|---|
| First Phase | Cleaning + Needle Extraction + Introduction | 80,000 to 120,000 | 2,160 to 3,240 |
| Second Phase | Gold microneedling + PDRN | 350,000 to 500,000 | 9,450 to 13,500 |
| Third phase (monthly payment) | Picosecond treatment + management | 150,000 per month | 4,050 per month |
| Total cost for the full course (3 months) | Approximately 800,000 to 1,100,000 | Approximately 21,600 to 29,700 |
A full three-month treatment costs approximately 21,600 to 29,700 Taiwanese dollars. In Taipei, a similar gold microneedling + PDRN treatment would cost at least 50,000 dollars.

📸 30-day unfiltered tracking record
🗓️ Day 1: First treatment (cleansing + microneedling)
To be honest, the microneedling was a bit painful (after all, needles were being inserted into my face), but the nurses at Reyou were very gentle. They applied ice compresses after each area was treated. After the procedure, the blackheads on my nose decreased significantly by about 50%—I know it’s temporary, but the feeling of finally having a clean face was really great.
🗓️ Day 7: Before the second phase (gold microneedling)
My skin has been relatively stable this week, and the amount of oil production seems to have decreased (possibly due to the effects of the first-phase skincare products). I went for gold microneedling radiofrequency—it was my first time doing this, and I was even more nervous than on my first date.
Pain level report: After applying the numbing cream for 40 minutes, the pain during the procedure was about 5/10 on the scale. The T-zone was particularly painful (due to more oil and thicker skin), but my cheeks were fine. The whole process took around 35 minutes. My face turned red afterwards, but the nurse said this was normal.
🗓️ Day 14: PDRN injection
The recovery period after the gold microneedling is almost over (small scabs started falling off on day 5, and by day 7, my skin was mostly smooth). Today I had my PDRN injection. Director Reyou personally performed the procedure—it’s very important that the doctor does it themselves, as some clinics use nurses instead.
The pain from PDRN is much lower than that from Lijuluan, probably only around 2 to 3 out of 10. The doctor chatted with me while performing the treatment to distract me, and before I knew it, it was already over. The whole process took about 25 minutes.
🗓️ Day 30: First picosecond treatment + comparative evaluation
Today is a milestone – it’s been a full month! After the picosecond treatment, the staff at Reyou helped me take high-resolution before-and-after photos. I also took some photos at home without using any filters.
The results were so impressive that I almost shouted them out in the clinic:
- Porcelain pore density in Area T: decreased from 28 pores/cm² to 16 pores/cm² (−43%)
- Pore diameter: decreased from 0.18mm to 0.09mm (−50%)
- Sebum production: returned to the “upper normal range” (now under control)
And most importantly, these results aren’t just temporary—they persisted even after a month of regular daily activities, including wearing makeup and staying up late to eat barbecue. In the past, any treatment I tried would revert to its original state within two weeks, but this time, the effects have stayed stable for a whole month.

⭐ Honest reviews of Reyou Dermatology in Korea
✅ Things I like
- Diagnostic science: It’s based on data rather than experience (pore density and diameter are both quantified).
- Structured approach: It progresses in three stages, rather than offering multiple treatments all at once.
- Transparent pricing: Fixed fees, no hidden costs.
- Focus on results, not sales: No attempts to sell additional services or products throughout the process.
- 30-day tracking data: Quantifiable evidence of before-and-after changes, not just empty claims about effectiveness.
⚠️ Areas that could be improved
- The environment is relatively simple, not as luxurious and comfortable as some clinics.
- The waiting area can get quite noisy when it’s crowded.
- Chinese-language services are limited (but translation apps can help).
- The recovery period for gold microneedling is slightly longer than that of regular laser treatments (5 to 7 days).
🔄 Comparison with similar clinics
- Kate Dermatology (Hongda): Also focuses on technical approaches; better at removing freckles but specializes differently in pore care.
- Danya Dermatology (Myeongdong): Offers more refined aesthetic treatments but at a higher price.
- S.Derma Dermatology (Myeongdong): Inexpensive and offers large-scale treatments, but lacks a systematic treatment plan.
If you have also been suffering from enlarged pores for a long time and all the methods you’ve tried only provide temporary relief, I highly recommend you try Reyou Dermatology in Korea. They don’t rely on aggressive marketing to make you pay; instead, they earn their reputation through solid technology and data. My trust in them is absolute.
