If you have a limited budget but still want to experience South Korea’s cosmetic treatments, this place is definitely your top choice. Today, I’ll share my real experiences, including both the advantages and disadvantages, so you can decide whether it’s right for you 💰
🏥 Introduction to Lienjang Dermatology Clinic
Lienjang is a well-known chain of Dermatology clinics in South Korea, with branches in Seoul, Busan, Daegu, and other cities. They focus on offering “high cost-performance” services: their prices are much lower than those of prestigious clinics in Gangnam, yet the equipment and the qualifications of their doctors are of high quality. These clinics are particularly popular among South Korean college students and office workers, making them the “first choice for affordable medical aesthetics treatments” among local residents.

The Myeongdong branch is located in the heart of the Myeongdong shopping district, making it very convenient to go shopping and dining immediately after completing the treatment. The clinic is on the 3rd floor of a building, and there is an elevator that takes you straight there.

The director of the Lienjang Myeongdong branch is Dr. Choi Soo-jin, who graduated from the School of Medicine at Ewha Womans University and has over 10 years of experience in the field of Dermatology. She is particularly skilled in treating acne-prone skin and providing basic skincare treatments. Her approach is very approachable and does not put any pressure on patients.
The shift system for doctors here is quite unique; different doctors will be on duty at various times. If you would like to request a specific doctor, please make sure to mention this during the reservation process.

💬 My real experience with lienjang
Reservation process
I made my reservation through WeChat; I sent a message in the morning, and received a confirmation reply in the afternoon. When making a reservation, you need to provide your name, phone number, the treatment you want to undergo, and the time slot you prefer. Their Chinese-language customer service responds quite quickly, so there are no issues with communication.
The procedures on that day
I had my appointment scheduled for 3 p.m., so I arrived 10 minutes early. First, I went to the counter to register and fill out some basic information as well as a skin type questionnaire. After waiting for about 15 minutes, a nurse took me to wash my face and have my photos taken.
Next came the consultation with the doctor. After examining my skin condition, Director Cui recommended that I undergo a combination of “basic hyaluronic acid injections + Pico laser treatment.” She explained everything very clearly and did not try to push me into trying other treatments. The entire consultation took about 15 minutes.
During the treatment process
First, I underwent the Pico laser treatment. The nurse applied an anesthetic and waited for 20 minutes before starting the procedure. The laser treatment itself took about 15 minutes. It felt a bit like having a rubber band snap against my face, and the pain level was approximately 4 out of 10. After the treatment, my face turned red, so the nurse immediately applied a soothing mask to it.
After taking a 30-minute rest, the hyaluronic acid injection procedure was carried out. This time, it was done using a machine, which made the process much faster – it took approximately 10 minutes to complete. The pain caused by the machine was much less intense than when it was done manually, ranging only from 2 to 3 on the pain scale.
The entire treatment process, including the waiting time, took approximately 2 hours in total. After the procedure, the nurse gave me some post-treatment care products and instructions on what to pay attention to, and then I was allowed to leave.
